4 vs 4 Tournament Information

  • 8 Courts
  • 3 Divisions

    • Grades 7-8 = Junior High 

    • Grades 9-12 = High School

    • Adult Co-ed = College +

  • Guarantee of 3 Games

Tournament Rules

  • 4-6 Athletes/Team (7th - 12th grade teams must be all girls / Adult teams must have minimum of 2 Females on each team.)

  • $100 Entry Fee / Team if registered by May 20th ($125 after)

  • Regular Volleyball Rulings

  • Games will be 2 sets to 21-points (if split, win will be determined by point-differential)

  • NO COACHES

    • This is meant to be a competitive but fun tournament atmosphere so the athletes will coach themselves.

  • NO REFEREES

    • Each court will have MVP United Coaches & Directors acting as court monitors and there will be a score-keeping team, but there will be no referees or line judges. We expect good sportsmanship to be shown by calling your own lines and net violations.

  •  Concessions will be available.

OTHER INFO:

  • Players can only play on 1 team throughout the tournament.
  • Adult Division: 4 players on the court at one time with a minimum of 2 women on court at all times.
  • Adult Division will have men’s net height - 7’11 5/8
  • Players must follow service order established by the team captain at the start of the game.
  • Free substitutions may be used on a side-out into the center back position - Adult division must have 2 women on court at all times.
  • There are NO positional faults. Players are free to position themselves but service order must be maintained throughout the set.
  • No open handed tipping in front of the 10 foot line. (Roll shot or contact made by knuckles in front of 10 foot line is ok)
  • Pool play games will be 2 sets to 21points, must win by 2 with no scoring cap.
  • If teams split sets in pool play, the winner will be determined by point-differential.
  • There is a 25 minute time limit/match in pool play so play needs to keep moving!
  • First serve is determined by team captains (Rock, Paper, Scissors)
  • The work team listed on the schedule is responsible for keeping score (flipchart & paper) and MUST turn results into the tournament table immediately after the match is finished. Work team does not have to line judge or ref!
  • Bracket play will be best of 3 sets.  First 2 sets to 21 & 3rd set to 15.
  • Teams are allowed one 30 second timeout per set.


NO REFEREES - Courts will have MVP United Coaches & Directors acting as court monitors. We expect good sportsmanship to be shown by calling your own lines and net violations.


PLAYER CONDUCT: 

  • All players are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner.
  • Any player displaying unsportsmanlike conduct will be given a verbal warning from the tournament director.
  • A second offense will cause the player to be ejected from the game and the team will forfeit the rest of their matches.

2022 MVP United Summer Camp w/ Rick Pruett

CAMP DIRECTOR: Rick Pruett has 24 years of collegiate head coaching experience in addition to 26 years of USA Jr. Olympic coaching experience. He has coached 18 All-Americans, and has seen over 20 of his former players become high school or college coaches. Coach Pruett has notable accomplishments at all levels including 3 National Tournament berths at the collegiate level, 2 State Championships at the high school level and an AAU National Championship at the Club level.  His passion for coaching the game is shown in an energetic and enthusiastic manner providing players with a fun and positive learning experience.

COST: $100 if registered by 5/23/2022 ($120 for late registration)

ONLINE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, June 3rd 

DRESS: Shorts, T-shirt (name on back of t-shirt if possible), Kneepads, Athletic Shoes.

MVP United FUNdamental Skills Camp

Grades 3-6  (Grade athlete will enter in August 2022)

June 13th - 14th 

9:00am-12:00pm

This is a camp for athletes entering grades 3-6 in the fall who want to have fun while learning the basic skills of volleyball. We will instill good volleyball techniques and habits in aspiring volleyball players to encourage them to gain great passion for the sport. The athletes will be trained in all areas of the game including serving, hitting, blocking, passing, setting and digging. Participants will be divided into teams determined by age and skill level for a fun and balanced experience. Local College Volleyball Players and MVP United Players & Coaches will assist Coach Pruett with this camp. Every participant will receive a t-shirt.

Middle School & High School Prep Camp

Grades 7-9  (Grade athlete will enter in August 2022)

June 13th - 14th

1:00pm - 4:00pm

This camp is an excellent opportunity for players to get detailed technical instruction in all areas of the game. Our staff will ensure a solid base of knowledge in every skill, with a particular focus on your position. Athletes will be divided by skill level at the start of camp. The camp is great for players of all levels of experience, but will focus on sharpening the skills of the intermediate / advanced player. Local College Volleyball Players and MVP United Coaches will assist Coach Pruett with this camp. Every participant will receive a t-shirt & individual awards will be presented at the end of camp.


MVP United's Team Camp is a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming fall season. Each team will have the opportunity to compete in at least 4 matches in one of Siouxland’s premier volleyball facilities.

Two Divisions for Girls Entering Grades 9-12
MVP United's Team Camp offers 2 Divisions to ensure that any Varsity, Junior Varsity, or Freshman/Junior High team from ANY school size can have a great camp experience. Awards to both Division Champions!

Mary Miller has been working camps for over 30 years. She specializes in teaching fundamental skills to players at an early age.

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Tuesday and Wednesday will be spent developing individual fundamentals: passing, serving, setting, hitting & defense. There will be tournament play on Thursday.
Grades 3rd—6th : 9:00am—12:00pm
Grades 7th –9th: 1:00pm—4:00pm.
 
AWARDS Awards will be presented to campers who are selected in the following categories:

*Best Passer
*Best Digger
*Best Setter
*Most Improved
*A Coaches Award for each court

K-2 CAMP INFORMATION

MVP United's K-2 Volleyball Camp is a skill-building clinic for girls and boys in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who are interested in playing and thriving in the amazing game of volleyball!
 

WHAT:

Our K-2 Camp will provide instruction in a fun atmosphere with a low athlete to coach ratio. We will focus on establishing proper technique for teaching offensive/defensive skills as well as proper movement.
 

WHEN & WHERE:

Our K-2 Camp will take place on Tuesday, July 19th - Wednesday, July 20th from 4:45pm-6:00pm at the CNOS Fieldhouse (300 Centennial Drive, North Sioux City, SD)!
 

REGISTRATION:

Limited spots are available so that we can maintain a low athlete to coach ratio.
